History

History at Millfield brings the past to life. Pupils show Courage by exploring challenging questions, Ambition by striving to understand different perspectives, Respect for people and cultures across time, Excellence in analysing evidence, and Spirit through a fascination with stories of the past.

Children study significant people, events, and civilisations, developing chronological understanding and historical enquiry skills. They learn to evaluate sources, consider cause and consequence, and form balanced arguments.

Our curriculum helps pupils appreciate how history shapes the present and inspires them to learn from the achievements and mistakes of those who came before.
