Design Technology
Design and Technology inspires children at Millfield to be creative problem-solvers. Pupils use their Courage to test ideas, their Ambition to innovate, their Respect when working with others, their Excellence to refine their creations, and their Spirit to enjoy the process of design.
Children are taught to design, make, and evaluate products that solve real problems within different contexts. They explore structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food technology, developing both practical and technical knowledge.
By combining imagination with logic, pupils learn to design with purpose, evaluate thoughtfully, and apply their skills to real-world challenges.
D&T at Millfield equips children with the skills to think critically, work collaboratively, and take pride in seeing their ideas come to life.
