Welcome to Apple and Cherry Class.

We are so excited to welcome you to Millfield Primary School as you join our reception classes. For some of you this will be your first experience of your child going to school and we are looking forward to working with you closely.

Children will all feel differently about starting school and that is to be expected. We will be working tirelessly getting to know them, teaching them about school and ensure they feel happy and safe in their new environment.

Alongside this we start their really exciting educational journey, and you will see them blossom over the coming weeks and months and in particular as they learn to read and the whole world opens up for them.

To keep you up to date every child has been given a Tapestry account which will allow you to join in with your child's learning. We will add things each week for you to look at and share.

Many parents/cares ask us how they can best support their child. The answer is to simply read to them as much as you can and listen to them read as much as you can. This practice and encouragement is vital and whilst we will do this at school it must be done at home.
